The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has validated its 2024 report on the state of human rights in The Gambia, offering an in-depth analysis of key issues such as access to justice, women’s rights, and freedom of expression. The validation event, held on 10th March 2025, brought together government officials, civil society, and international partners to discuss progress and challenges in the nation’s human rights landscape. The Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, launched a three-day workshop in Bakau on 25th February 2025, aimed at improving reporting under the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (ICRMW). The event highlighted The Gambia's ongoing efforts to align its domestic policies with international human rights standards, particularly in relation to migrant workers' rights. More in the report.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports presided over the launch of the National Action Plan on Youth, Peace, and Security on 11th February 2025 during an opening ceremony attended by dignitaries, ambassadors, and representatives from development partners at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center.
