On World Consumer Rights Day, The Gambia joined the global call for sustainable consumer practices, emphasising the need for responsible consumption to address urgent environmental challenges. Organised by the Consumer Protection Consortium (CPC), the event focused on promoting eco-friendly lifestyles and protecting both consumers and the environment. More in the report.

We urge the government and relevant stakeholders to uphold their legal and ethical obligations to the environment and the people of The Gambia. The exploitation of Salagi Forest Park is not only a breach of the law but a grave disservice to future generations.”

In response to the call for climate action, the National Assembly's Select Committee on Environment, Sustainable Development and NGO Affairs, joined the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) and partners in launching the Environmental Democracy project.

Youth-led association, Aims Forward Foundation has called on Gambian youths to take up more  responsibility and engage in community development as a way of helping the government in nation-building.
